Stampin' Up! pulls out ALL the stops at its recent convention - part 1

I scarcely know where to begin. The Stampin' Up! convention was AMAZING! I was 3 weeks post surgery, feeling fine (mentally) about going but unsure how my stamina would be. Overall, it was easier than I expected though tiring of course. Seeing how much love and care Stampin' Up! put into every detail, seeing the smiling faces of so many demonstrator friends and feeling humbled by honors bestowed on me during convention just made it a pretty flawless few days for me.

One of the first treats was getting VIP entrance to our Memento Mall logo store for recruiting a new member of my team from July 1-19. Thanks Tina for rejoining my team while I was in the hospital so I could get the VIP treatment!

Shopping at Memento Mall is always crazy! I met up with my roommate Patty Bennett while in line to pay. Uh, ya think we have enough stuff between the two of us? Thank heavens we both had cars to carry things home for us.

And after a wee bit of shopping, I made my way to the Awards Booth to see what I earned in awards this year. The brass ring is always to be handed the Founder's Circle bag which indicates entry into the Founder's Circle group and exclusive retreat hosted by our CEO Shelli Gardner in Utah in September. I had a bumpy year so I really was holding my breath......... and I got the bag!! That also means I am somewhere on the top-100 list!

Along with the bag, we earn free stamp sets for some of the other awards that are subsets of the big Founder's Circle designation. I got all this FREE from Stampin' Up!

My #1 priority and joy at convention is being with downline. I had 5 demonstrators in my group with me at this convention. Here I am with Stacy Kuzanek (left) and Cathy Williams (who is a saint and drove the two of us 10 hours to get to convention).

Here I am with Christine Bellow who lives really close to me in California.

And one other priceless benefit of attending convention is reuniting with salt-of-the-earth "real" demonstrator friends like Rose-Ellen Eastman from Virginia and Dina Anker of Toronto. These two ladies are beyond compare! Met them 2 conventions ago, in 2008, and they are blood sisters to me for life :)

I'm home from the Stampin' Up! convention - WOW what an experience!

Home from the most AMAZING Stampin' Up! convention ever where the highlight for me, beyond seeing my wonderful old demo friends and hanging with my downline friends, was making it on the top-100 Demonstrators of the Year list for the 5th year in a row AND for being awarded 4th place for most promotions in my downline to Sr Associate in the US AND for being unbelievably humbled to have been selected to serve on the Stampin' Up! Advisory Board for this fiscal year (now through convention next July). My head is still spinning!

I am pretty tuckered out since I am still only a few weeks post-surgery so I have to keep this short BUT I have all my photos, with captions, shown by clicking here or cut and paste this into your browser:

Stella's Stampin' Up! convention ramblings

I have precious little time at a public computer so I'm going to hit some bullet points to at least get something out there! I cannot download photos from here :(

• It took my downline Cathy and I 10 hours to get here by car. It was a really easy drive.
• First evening, we connected with my roommate Patty Bennett and some of her downline and friends for dinner.
• There appear to be about 3000 (or a bit less) of us here. I heard a speaker say "3000" so it's likely close to that.
• The Gathering Place and side areas areas are amazing! Hundreds of samples.
• Memento Mall shopping includes a fabulous craft tote from our Greenhouse Gala DSP plus a matching laptop case. I got both. T-shirts that read "Stampin' Up!" over a filigree in either red or pink ( I got both). Samplers of our new Designer Series Paper, ribbon and punches. Christmas ornament. Pens. Rulers with logo on them. Keychain. Single stamp that says "Share What You Love" or it says "Share what you love, love what you do". I can't remember which it is! Apron with logo. Convention charms. Collapsible trash containter with logo for scraps on table at workshop or event. Hmmm.... I know I'm forgetting something.
• Shelli spoke this morning and offered a warm welcome.
• The DBWS will have an e-card builder so we can make our own - hooray!
• Ever run chipboard through your impressions embossing folder? So cute then presenter inked with craft ink and a dauber.
• Our annual theme has a song "Share What You Love" which will be available for download this week.
• I am in the top-100 USA demonstrators again! I find out tonight what spot I'm in. I am seriously just so relieved to be ON the list for 5th year in a row. That is a goal met regardless of what number I am. The Founder's Circle bag is an overnight bag of sorts and I love it!

I think I had better let someone else use this computer..............

What I made for my Stampin' Up! downline who are attending convention with me

There will be 6 of us total in my Stampers for Others Stampin' Up! group. The group is comprised of all my downline plus me. I learned after my first convention that uplines bring gifts (not eveyrone but a lot) for their downline. I wrapped mine using the Island Oasis Designer Series Paper (found on page 27 of the current Summer mini catalog) and some retired In Color ribbon.

What's inside is this:

I am giving each downline a Simply Adorned 24" Chain and the 1 x 1 1/4 Rectangle Charm. For the insert, I used a new Level-2 set Cute by the Inch plus some Gold Glow Smooch Spritz (pg. 195 of the catalog). As is often the case, it looks better "in person." We'll all have matching necklaces for our special, shared event!

FREE color software update coming for all Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio users

The launch of a new catalog is exciting, and there's more excitement to come! On July 13, all My Digital Studio users will be eligible for a free color software upgrade and color downloads.

The color update to the software will add the new core colors, and three previously unavailable carryover colors to the color palette
