Stampin' Up! Announces New Home Decor Product Line

More and more people are using Stampin’ Up!’s^® rubber stamps and accessories to customize their home. Because of this demand, Stampin’ Up! is now offering additional coordinating home décor products for making customized personal space easy, cost effective and flexible. 

Stampin’ Up! is adding a new product to the Definitely Decorative^® product line by introducing wall graphics, expressions, and lettering. The new product, Décor Elements^™, will be available July 1, 2008.

Enjoy creating a complete space that reflects your style and expresses who you are.

Technique: Mosaic Tile Background

Make a great mosaic background using excess pieces of rubber that have been trimmed before mounting our images!

 
1. Find any round object (i.e. jar lid, disposable plastic cup, etc.). This will be your mount.

 
2. Adhere pieces of rubber & apply them in a random mosaic pattern onto your round object. Leave about 1/16" of space between pieces.

 
3. Ink up your “mosaic tile stamp” onto card stock. You have now created a round mosaic tile background!

 
4. Stamp it over stencils & create other shaped mosaic tiles (squares, ovals, rectangles, triangles).

• Is using this storefront the only way I am taking pre-orders this year? Yes, as much as possible. If you have an email address and if you have a debit or credit card (you do not need to register on Pay Pal to buy one) and buying one takes only a couple minutes. Pay Pal is very secure! Using Pay Pal storefront allows me to not only keep really accurate records but it generates a shipping label with your address already in it plus it gives free Delivery Confirmation. Stampin' Up! Retired Stamp Set List Here Now!

Today, SU released its list of sets that will retire August 10. From today through June 30 only, my offer of free tax and free shipping on orders of $150 or more is in effect. My fiscal year ends June 30 so the more sales I have from today through June 30, the better. Payments must be received so that orders can be finalized June 30. Between July 1 and August 10, I will not be offering free tax and free shipping on orders of $150+. So, the early bird gets the worm... and the best deal!

Technique: Vellum Embossing

White Vellum * Embossing Pad

1. Stamp image on vellum with embossing ink, emboss (allow heat source to warm up to maximum temperature as vellum is not designed to withstand such heat & will pucker/bubble/scorch rapidly) quickly.
2. Color the design from behind for a soft subtle stained glass look with markers or colored pencils. Mop up extra ink & let dry. You can color the image on top of the vellum for a bright vibrant look too.

Stella and Shelli

I have been so busy since we got back from the SU! Bermuda cruise. I just stumbled upon this photo of me with Shelli at our onboard Make N Take this past April. I was having a bad hair day :(

She is ageless! Now here's a photo from about 4 1/2 years ago at a Regional meeting. She's getting younger while I'm getting older!

Technique: Mirror Image

This can be a little tricky & will take some practice!  For best results use pigment ink because it’s a slower drying ink.

1.  Ink up your stamp.

You probably cannot use a large image. Practice on scrap paper before you use a better surface/card stock.

 2.  Lay your inked stamp, rubber side up & roll your clean brayer over the rubber “once.” You do need to use some pressure, but not too much or you will distort your image!

 3.  Now look & see where the beginning of the image starts on the brayer & line that up with where you want the image to go on the card. Roll it in one direction & just “once” onto your card.

 4.  Now ink up the same stamp……but stamp it off onto scrap paper first before stamping next to the brayered image.  You do this so that both the brayered image & the stamped image have the same intensity of ink. 

 5.  Now you have two images side by side mirroring each other!

June 30 the SU fiscal year ends - so I'm asking that if you can place your retired stamp set order between June 15 and June 30 that'd be great! Instructions

1. Adhere 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" Very Vanilla textured card stock to journal.
2. Adhere 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" So Saffron textured card stock to Very Vanilla square.
3. Adhere  2" x 2-7/8" piece of Certainly Celery Prints Designer Series paper to So Saffron square.
4. Stamp alphabet in VersaMark ink on Ruby Red textured card stock. Trim to 1-7/8" x 2-1/16" and adhere to So Saffron square.
5. Punch arrow from More Mustard textured card stock using My Way punch. Adhere to So Saffron square.
6. Apply arrow Rub-On to So Saffron textured card stock using wooden stick included with Rub-On assortment. Stamp "2008" in VersaMark ink in stem of arrow. Cover image in Clear Stampin' Emboss powder, and heat emboss. Punch arrow out using My Way punch. Adhere to So Saffron square using Stampin' Dimensionals.
7. Cut out 2-1/8" x 2-1/4" square from Old Olive textured card stock. Stamp flower image in VersaMark ink on So Saffron textured card stock. Cover image in Clear Stampin' Emboss powder, and heat emboss. Punch out center of flower using 1/4" Circle punch. Cut out flower, and adhere to Old Olive square. Attach rhinestone brad from Pretties Kit to Old Olive square in center of flower. Adhere square to journal cover using Stampin' Dimensionals.
8. Cover chipboard frame with Soft Sky textured card stock. Sand edges using sanding blocks. Adhere to Old Olive square.
9. Punch flower from Old Olive textured card stock using Boho Blossoms punch; punch center out from flower using 1/4" Circle punch. Adhere to alphabet square around the "S."
10. Stamp "Spring" in Old Olive ink on Certainly Celery square. Cover On Board letter "S" with More Mustard textured card stock; sand edges using sanding blocks. Adhere "S" to Certainly Celery square over "S" in "Spring."
11. Pierce holes around journal cover edges using piercing tool from the Crafters' Tool Kit.
12. Punch round tabs from Soft Sky, More Mustard, Certainly Celery, and Old Olive textured card stocks using Round Tab punch. Fold tabs in half. Stamp flower in VersaMark ink on each tab. Adhere tabs to journal pages.
